Violence in the Schools - Is Violence My Only Choice?
Researchers at the university of chicago worked with a non profit that had been trying to address violence in the public school system for some time. They were noticing that when people acting violently in the schools, they were often not even considering the possibility that there was something non violent that they could do instead. The intervention was just to tell students, look, if something happens and you're noticing that the first possibility that comes to mind is responding violently, just take one second to think about what is nonvi thing you can do instead. And that made a big difference.
