Union Carbide's Defense of the Leak
Union Carbide initially blamed the Bhopal tragedy on Sikh terrorist. The company produced a report that concluded it was deliberate act of sabotage by one of its own employees. Union Carbide also maintained that safety standards could not be enforced from its corporate headquarters.
