Rudolph Hess and the Prison
After the war, Rudolph Hess was put on trial at Nuremberg. He was one of seven sentenced to life imprisonment in West Berlin's Spandau prison. There were periodic efforts to free him, but these didn't come to anything. One reason may have been that Soviets regularly blocked his release.
