History Story Time - Florence Nightingale

Florence Nightingale founded the world's first nursing school at St Thomas's Hospital. She would walk around the hospital checking on all the soldiers carrying a lamp with her so all the soldiers called her the lady of the lamp. After this lots of people both rich and poor became nurses. Do you remember that she was very good at maths at school? So she was able to do lots of sums proving to everyone how many lives would be saved by having clean hospitals. Next week follow Neil Armstrong as he heads for the moon.
