The Resistance to Diagnosis
I think the resistance diagnosis in part comes from the idea that it will dominate your self-narrative in a way that is destructive. Even though I explicitly asked for a diagnosis, I was always extremely embarrassed about it. Like it was something that I really felt hesitant to advocate for. But I don't think that all clinicians see the way that in absence of diagnosis can also dominate yourself and be destructive. And that's the piece that I really wish people heard.
