The couple had been planning to have a baby around the same time as Paul's cancer diagnosis. "I think for him, encountering his mortality and going through that process pretty unflinchingly was a thing he was trying to do in his life," she says. It feels like he was continuing the project of finding meaning making in his life despite all the stuff that was going on around him.
