The Relationship Between Loneliness and Mental Health
Loneliness is not a mental health problem itself, but we do know that loneliness and poor mental health are interlinked. People who are lonely are more likely to experience greater levels of anxiety and depression. And according to research, it was quite a few years ago now back in 2012 that research concluded that loneliness leads to a loss of hope and energy as well. So the key challenge around loneliness and mental health is really when we're researching it is to be able to calculate and work out which comes first.
