India was always interested in its influence in the Indian Ocean region that was of primary interest and so when the US came up with an Indo-Pacific strategy well there is no Indo- Pacific strategy without India in it. As India's commitment to the Indo-Pacific has grown as it has come to see that the United States values both the Pacific and the Indian Ocean side of its strategy and so India has become more central to it. Andre I wanted to talk about the other side of the ledger because the story that you just painted is one that would give policymakers in the United States a lot of hope for the role that India is and will play in the Indo-pacific.
