The Importance of Self Restraint

Temperance is an old fashioned word, usually at least in America for American historians, if you hear about temperance, you're thinking about alcohol. It's just this general principle or virtue of self restraint. We do live in a totally hedonistic culture that people indulge in whatever they feel like they ought to indulge in. And so that it's really terrifying when you hear people in the church saying, no, this is why Christ came for us. This is why he died for us so that we could kind of have that freedom. No, he died so that we can say no to sin. Amen.
