Mother's condition let us take charge, choose doctors and make appointments. She might be very confused, might become angry, but ultimately she would do what we told her to do,. Mostly we went unquestioned. Adapting to a brain that's damaged is hard. Your own reason is strained and tested. Her experience of time was distorted. Einstein wrote that we have time only so that everything doesn't happen at once.
