"When I first heard the nurtured heart approach, I was kind of turned off just as a man," he says. "It's really battling for the heart of your child in a way that they're going to feel loved, seen, noticed, competent, valued" The more disrespectful his son is, the more blood pressure goes up and you are driven to go do something to get this to stop. But choosing saying I'm going to take a stand to disconnect when things are going wrong because I care and love you is a completely different stance or not a completely different mindset.
