The Lord Loveth Righteous
In verse two, what do we need to be safe from? For lo the wicked bend their bow. They make ready their arrow upon the string that they may privily shoot at the upright. In heart, we saw similar imagery for the lord ready to take aim and fire at the wicked. But now it's the wicked taking aim, ready to fire at the righteous. No wonder, we need god as our shield, as our protection. And he'd always, often say, the temple is the place we need to run to. Don't just go to the temple, but run to it and to flee as a bird to that mountain. That is the ultimate place of safety.
