An action is spontaneous if the principle or desire comes his birth out of the person. So in the ice cream scenario, shiloh's petition was not spontaneous because it was sort of coerced upon arshilo. But in the case of prayer, remigle would want to say that our prayers, even though god implants a desire for that particular thing in us, that that desire is still spontaneous because it's coming from within me.
