The Power of Presence in VR

The key thing that the technology really achieves is the sense of present. That's obviously because it's deeply wired into our very essence as humans. As soon as you've had that feeling, I've met the other person regardless of whether they're like a cartoon avatar or not. If Apple got that right, we'll find out next year, that could be the game changer. There's a big risk with that avatar approach because this is single the uncanny valley. It may actually be very weird for the people on the FaceTime calls, experiencing the avatar.
