I think the only way that you can start breaking down some of those barriers is by testing them or living them. If you're from one place and you've never been to other places, it's often true that your perspective is really heavily anchored on the place that you're at. The same thing happens when people have these understanding of the world and then they get transported to another country for one reason or the other. I would encourage you to go just try new things in your life because as he said, you either come back realizing, oh, that really wasn't so bad"
