I was trained to be a classical baritone because I had a nice timbre but they had to strip a lot of my soul from that so that I could sound competitive. My tone is, is, hey, how are you? Yeah, absolutely. Let's get drunk. On a Broadway career, you have to be able to sing the same way eight shows a week. So there is a level of care and health for the voice that if you sing in a church, you don't have to have when you're letting it out one day a week. You can't really use God to get through alone eight shows a year.
