The RBA's Hierarchical Culture

I agree with all 51 recommendations that are eminently sensible. The RBA has been characteristically for decades very, very resistant to accepting a decision-making errors. It is an institution that really bred extreme hubris. I think under Phil Lowe, he's done a terrific job opening up the RBA. He's the most transparent governor we've ever had. There was a huge myth of Australian banking exceptionalism that grew out of the GFC. We're only three to six years behind their US and UK peers in terms of embracing subprime lending. Little old Adelaide Bank Houston model itself on the far UK bank, Moreland Rock, in terms of its focus on securitisation
