Human Ingenuity Is a Problem
Human ingenuity doesn't lend itself to mathematical equations. We rely on something that is part of human nature. By the early 1900s, coal was powering half of the energy consumption on the planet. Today, a quarter of it comes from nuclear. If things keep going the way they're going, it's going to be another 50 to 100 years and half of the world's energy will come from fusion.
