The Differences Between German and German Drill Uniforms

A lot of the German ones initially are linen. Linning you can get more easily in central and eastern Europe, cotton is something that would have to be imported from somewhere else during war. The main uniform is wool so when are they supposed to wear the drill? Does the drill uniform ever supersede one to protect the other? does that make sense? My bad coveralls were to protect his battle dress. Right, it seems from the photographs and things that I've seen that they wear the whole set of one or the entire set of the other. It would be possible I suppose to put the jacket of one over the other but that doesn't seem to be the planned use.
