How to Learn in a Noisy System
In 2012, I cycle out as this more academic work starts to take much bigger place in my life. What I realized is that, no, it's actually the exact same thing I'm studying. If you think about the problem for a child learning the first language, there are these words kind of flying around. There's all sorts of objects and actions and qualities of objects that are out in the world. So I was thinking about these problems and how do you learn in these very noisy systems with really, really noisy feedback? I go and start playing poker. At a poker table, that's about the best play out of that particular sentence that you can see, right?
