There's a way to look at life, not from a moralistic view of good or bad, but of action and consequences. People make the best choice they can they see at the time. We each have the puritan and the hedenist, some one whose practices self self denial, and some one who practises self indulgence. And there we also have inside of us a peacock and a chicken. But theirr times, even that is appropriate, those different roles to play in life.
Dan Millman is a former world champion gymnast, university coach, martial arts instructor, and college professor. He is the author of 13 books, including The Way of the Peaceful Warrior which was made into a feature film starring Nick Nolte. His most recent book written with his daughter Sierra is The Creative Compass: Writing Your Way from Inspiration to Publication.
