Egypt and the United Arab Emirates are among a handful of countries that have updated their climate targets in line with COP26 promises from Glasgow last year. The United Arab Emirates for example is promising to cut its emissions by 31% by 2030 which is improving upon its promise last year of 23.5%. But there are some parts of how they're aiming to achieve this that are a little bit unclear as to how they would work.

Now, researchers have shown that this isn’t quite true and that fruit flies can actually move their retinas using a specific set of muscles, which may allow them to perceive depth. The team also hope that this movement may provide a window into some of the flies’ internal processes.
