The Turtles were important enough in the hierarchy of LA stars that Kalen and Tucker were even invited by David Crosby to meet the Beatles at Derrick Taylor's house. They agreed and drove up to the house and actually saw George Harrison through the window, but that was as close as they got to the Beatles that day. After five singles after You Baby, the one that charted highest was a song with verses in five four time and cover verses in six four. But it didn't appeal to the group's good time music pop audience, and only region number eight two one. The group started falling apart.
