HMS Unicorn is one of the most important historic ships in the world. It's absolutely critical that we preserve the best example of original shipbuilding in the world from the Georgian period. We're at the point now where we feel comfortable banging the gong about how important this ship is and if it's lost, it's lost. The first step for us is there are urgent repair works that need to be done to the hull of the ship because the hull is losing its structural integrity. To replace just four rows of planking around the outside of the ship in what we call the main whale will cost 800,000-1 million pounds.
