18: Before and After the End of History
The Making of Modern Ukraine
Introduction
This podcast was recorded in the autumn of 2022, live in a classroom at Yale University. The argument that I want you to get from this lecture is that history doesn't actually end. And if we can get that down, a whole lot of the politics of the 21st century will make more sense than it does. We're going to talk about Ukraine within like three minutes. It's all relevant to this larger trajectory that we're trying to follow in the 20th century of how Ukraine gets treated in the Soviet Union.
