The Age of the People
Those who recognise God's voice in the thunder realise that they have been living in a beastly and inhuman manner. They become God-fearing monogamous souls, piously toil and till the soil. The next stage begins the Age of the Fathers - patriarchs who carry civilisation beyond savagery. Vico sees this age as the beginning of the Neolithic. Now we have the fourth age when all the property is distributed democratically but nobody has heard the voice of God or even inherited the moral order so to speak. And what are the people interested in? Just goods, property.
