Schusterkowich's Second Theme
The music still has a defiant power to it, propelled by that three note motto. This will all lead to a second theme, accompanied again by a repeated rhythm called an ostinato. The tempo picks up and for the first time in the piece, a third of the way into the movement, the music finally begins to breathe. But Schusterkowich was by no means a one-dimensional composer.
