In 2001 when I did the Appalachian Trail that's when I was like okay I discovered my life purpose this is what I really want to do and you just learned that on the trail yeah. Back then it's also back in 2001 there was no smartphones there was almost very little GPS and and so you were really much more disconnected on the Appalachian Trail or any of these trails than before.
