With newborn there's the concept of of skin to skin, or the idea of the mother holding the child. And what a big impact that makes on the child for the rest of their life. Touch is that crucial. It's probably a feeling thing too, but there's a chemical process that happens there too. Think about how infants actually hear the mother's heart beat for nine months and then goes away for that moment of ou know, the birth process.
