Sally Kohn: It's easy to forget that we're creatures of God because of our power over things. We live in a time when, "Oh, hey, it's however you want it," she says. Obeying authorities is something that you should assume to be done as opposed to always checking on your family or the church for signs they are doing well and if not, what will happen? She asks whether obeying an authority has any legitimacy from a virtuous perspective.Kohn: I think there's a lot of sense of autonomy; obedience strikes me as slubrious.
