In War and Peace for example there's that really famous dance scene where Natasha and brother Nikolai the Rostovs they go to a family dacha after hunting in the countryside away from the ballrooms and drawing roomsThe city can be seen as symbolizing a more complicated way of life an overly busy way of life and perhaps even a sinful way of life with rural life symbolizing the opposite of that.
