The Finnish Independence Week

John Sturbords is the chief conductor of Tampareffi's and we are on tour. We have a concert in Birmingham Town Hall that is exactly the hall where he conducted himself about 100 years ago. In Landia it's officially on the program here, this is also connected with the fact that this week has also been the Finnish Independence Week. I like the way he builds up the dynamics, he writes Fort crescendo first and then after long for Marta in the teampony he starts with the same motive but a little bit bigger. Adding the trumpets and building it up with Fortissimo makes a big difference going into the woodwind continuation.
