The Importance of Auditing in the Workplace
In-auditing is a powerful instrument in the hands of management and HR. It can control the levers that incentivize, to ensure compliance as far as you can. But I like to think audit at least has the potential to be other than the way it is being used. A lot of performance management is not intrinsically bad. The problem is that we choose to measure the wrong things. We make count the things accountable, but not the things that really count - such as quality of education.
