The Problems With Pulse Oximeters
The relationship between SPO2 and SAO2 is basically just where you have lots of normal hemoglobin species that confuse the pulse oximeter. So if you have carboxyhemoglobin, if you have methemoglobin, that would make your measurement inaccurate. And there's a few other random niche situation where the pulse oximeters are exposed to light at just the right wavelength to make it confused. Just be wary, I guess, in patients who are, this one was looking at mild hypotension.
