Isometric work is a fantastic way to be able to get a really high stimulus and not have the undue fatigue. Some sort of some sprinters, Bob Skeleton athletes, can absolutely ruin themselves off of one or two really high intensity reps. Most average Joe blogs and team sports are absolutely fine to do maximal, maximal isometric interactions and be fine and recover quickly off the back of it.
