i think what you canot take out of this is you would like people to be judged by what they did rather than who they are. And that can be, for people like george washington and thomas jefferson, quite a double edged sword. It's better to live in the world that they helped create, and that lafayette helped to create, than in the world which was all just mediaeval nonsenseand i'm reading it right now. I promise, i'll d i'll, i won't say anything bad about the middle ages.
