The Importance of Good Judgment in Trading Strategies
The impact of a human has on the building of a quant strategy is enormous. The computer needs to be told everything and that person who tells it everything its teacher as it were. You have to have good judgment about research methods, data cleaning but all sorts of stuff some of that stuff ends up being really mundane and monotonous or detail oriented. It's hard to say what brings good judgment to some people and not to others but it isn't that hard if you're willing to do the work to find out who has good judgment and who doesn't.
