Shiv and Tom are using each other for strategy and success. They have that awkward tarmac sort of farewell where it seems like they're going to table that conversation for a time of less crisis. He is using his marriage to a woman he doesn't really trust anymore to keep himself in the mix professionally. I suspect we're going to get a lot more of Shiv and Tom and their future and the future of their love than we got this episode.
