Weight Watchers was just like spraying people with FENFEN in a mist, like produce at the grocery store for everybody that can go into their meetings. The story breaks in this huge way on July 9, 1997. It is a humongous news story. And one of the big ones that catches on is they say you have almost twice as great a chance of getting hit by lightning than of getting primary pulmonary hypertension from a weight loss medication.
Fen-Phen & Redux were "the next miracle drugs" in the '90s, claiming to help people lose dramatic amounts of weight in just three months. But within a few short years, they'd been pulled from the market. They were just too effective! (Just kidding, they killed some people.)
