The logic is based on my 12 year partnership with my husband, who has frequently declined to attend weddings and events where he did not know a lot of people. For one more person who does not want to be there, there is no reason for her to attend the entire event. She should fly out and spend the days with her friend and off wedding hours with her boy friend. The wedding couple would save on a head count and not have to pay for dinner, drinks, et cetera. Even asking that question, as well as kal and serutes and citing it as an example of female privilege, has me wondering if i am doing something completely wrong with my marriage. I think
