What makes for an effective story? There's got to be some sort of mystery about something happened that wasn't expected. Second is the storyteller should be somebody who likes to tell stories. Some people think you're telling the story when they just give me a narrative, he says.

My guest today is celebrated research psychologist Gary Klein who has spent nearly 50 years studying how and why people make the decisions they do.
