The Importance of References in Fund Allocation

I think it all comes down to references and how you feel about the principles. How much of our own capital is invested in our own funds? We tend to have more than the average by far. I'll never forget probably 20 years ago a major New York bank came to me to invest one of their funds. It was the Wall Street bank that lent these guys the million dollars on a non-recourse basis to invest in their own fund. So I would conclude from that, and I did concluded from that, that our interest are not aligned.
