Is the Left Allergy to Universality?

I think that what you're pointing at is the way in which capitalism is actually allergic to universality, right? Like, yeah, it tries to get us to think of ourselves as isolated particulars without any larger universal structure connecting us together. So I think that's a really, that's why in our particular historical moment, I feel like the emphasis on universality is even more exigent. And I think Marx of all the people, I think Marx understood that. He understood that if you really want to challenge the capitalist structure, you have to do it universally.
