What Is Your Word for Religion?
In the 16 and 17 hundreds, people started to expand the word religion in the same way that they had done to talk about catholics and protestants. They started to look at other people in other parts of the world and say, those people also have their religions. So this is where people start to u this word to mean certain christian practices and certain christian teachings that people might not agree on,. And this is the first sort of expansion of the word religion to mean a wider sort of array of christian teachings and practices. What christians then soon after started to do was group together all of christianity as they understood it, and call all of it religion.
