How to Manage a Neurotic Family?

You're supposed to leave your parents and go with your partner. You've rearranged your hierarchy of moral obligations. And then you protect them against that over sheltered neurauticism. What advice do you have for managing hor eatable mother and neurotic families in general? One thing i would suggest is move the hell away, at least far enough away so that you have your privacy....
