Is This a Fraud?

Stephen Daly writes, Ellen White denied having ever read or been taught anything about the subject. But Bates had written a tract, the opening heavens, that Ellen had obviously read. What what Ellen reported about the people of these planets contradicts what we know now so you can see why I'm concerned this looks like a fraud perpetrated on Captain Bates by Ellen and her husband. Do we have other evidence that Ellen perpetrated hoaxes? This is a charge that I'm very reluctant to make.
