The Complexity of Scottish Politics
The Scottish National Party is meant to be a one issue party at one level. But it's also adopted a bunch of other key commitments which for quite a long time have been very socially progressive and ties those things to independence. The Liberal Democrat party or the Labour party that tie holding those values to being unionist and opposing Scottish independence. And I'm not sure why there's a very strong link between those two.
