The History of Haiti

In 1804, at last, Sandemar was declared independent. At this point, Jean-Jacques Desalines, the hero of the revolution, was crowned Emperor Jacques I. But he would turn out to be just as brutal as anyone who had come before him. The Haitian people didn't like this very much and they killed him two years later. They dismembered him and chopped him up in the street and then fed his body to the pigs. It started off Haiti's run of bloody dictators and their tradition of overthrowing them.
