Using Streptomyces to Make a Fuel Molecule

streptomyces can make three-carbon structures. It's hard to work with because it needs really specific lab conditions. Researchers have found an enzyme that makes the molecule and are working on changing its makeup in a lab. They say there is still a long, long way to go before they've made 10 kilograms of fuel.
