A new revelation that came out this week is that the white house was indeed involved in the early stages of this inquiry by the national archives. The justice department, very interestingly, i think, used the new statutes that have been enacted over the more recent decades to essentially criminalize the pres tial records act. If they're correct about that interpretation, and literally, it looks like they probably are correct, then that would make this a pretty easy case.
